Itinerary for one week-end in Paris

The itinerary step by step

• Go to the Arc de Triomphe to admire the ballet of cars around the arc.
• Go for a walk on the Champs-Elysées and take the time to do some shopping on the prettiest avenue of the world.
• At the end of the Champs-Élysées, you will arrive at Place de la Concorde, just before the Jardin des Tuileries. We advise you to take something to eat to go, seat in the grass of the garden and admire the landscape around you.
• After lunch, go to the Louvre for a cultural visit.
• Head to the Columns of Buren to take photos.

• We start the day with the majestic Eiffel Tower, if you are there soon enough you will avoid (a little) the crowd.
  Tip : take your tickets in advance if you want to go up the tower, otherwise you will spend the morning waiting in line instead of enjoying the view from the top of the tower !
• Then, head to the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral (30 minutes by bus Champs de Mars – Chatelet + 5 mins walk to Ile de la Cité) ! Take the opportunity to walk on the Ile de la Cité.
• When time for lunch has come, we advise you to go to the Marais (about 10-15 min walk) where you will find a lot of small restaurants.
• You will then take the metro to go to Montmartre (30 min Metro City Hall – Abbesses), take the afternoon to discover this mythical district, enjoy the view of the French capital since the Sacré-Coeur.

How to get around Paris

You have several options to get around Paris. First thing in mind ? Public transportations. The network is well developed : subway (métro), bus, tramway, RER… You can buy a 1 to 5 days unlimited transportation card. Economic and ecological ! 

You can also get around the city by taxi or Uber but with the traffic going in Paris, you will take more time than by public transportation.  

Finally, depending on the distance to travel, you can move on foot, it will allow you to discover the city at the same time (it also works by bike of course).

Global budget for a trip in Paris

About transportation :

• The unlimited transportation card cost stats at 12€/person. 
• Uber is cheaper than taxis and you will be sure to have one within 10 minutes. .

About accommodation :

• If you’re a backpacker person, a hostel will cost you around 25€ per night per person. 
• For a night in a 2 stars hotel well located, count around 100€ per night the double bedroom. 
• you can also check out Airbnb for more affordable accommodations : a private room is around 30€ per night per person and an entire flat’s around 50€ per night per person.

About catering : 

• For lunch, try small typical restaurants ! It will cost you between 8€ and 15€ for a meal to take away and it starts at 15€ if you eat in the restaurant.
• For dinner, a meal cost starts at 20€.
